I finished up an impromptu probono photoshoot with Regina this evening. I missed Battlestar Galactica, however I’m catching the repeat right now with a Little Caesars Hot-N-Ready pizza and some Landshark beer. I just saw Adama and Tigh beat the living shit out of each other…which was cool…and I’m glowing over the first-time use of my new gear: a new Photoflex ProDuty backdrop system and a Sekonic L-358 light meter. Everything worked great and I’m greatly anticipating going over the photos tomorrow before I run off to shoot some more Edinburg Landsharks football. Speaking of Landsharks: ssssip!

Hey, everyone! Go check out my new photoblog at photoblog.impossiblefx.com. It doesn’t replace the main site, but I am a photographer after all. I’ll be adding lots more photographs to the archives (I have a little more than a hundred more to add), and then I’ll, of course, be updating it with new stuff as the days go on. I am seriously tempted to do a “photo-a-day” kind of thing with it, too. Seriously tempted.

So go ahead and check out my new photoblog. I’ll wait. :)

Well, I saw Indiana Jones on Memorial Day and it was terrific, big, stupid fun! I would imagine fans of the series would get much more out of it than anyone else, including people who just watched the first three movies to catch up. I am a fan. I even dressed as Indy for Halloween two years ago. I remember lines of dialogue, pacing and delivery. I remember music cues, edits and stage blocking. The new Star Wars movies tried to be history. This? This IS history. Indiana Jones…all the way. Go see it!

This is my first animation with the trial version of Toon Boom Studio I made on March 19, 2006. This was made before I got the Wacom tablet so it’s all drawn by mouse. I’m finally wanting Toon Boom bad enough that I might actually buy it this year.

Poor little guy. He just splits open like a ripe tomato.

Monday is Memorial Day here in the USA and so we’re also leaving the office early today, just ‘cuz. So I’m taking off right now and am going to play the hell out of Grand Theft Auto IV.

…ep, no. Nevermind. I have to stay anyway because I’m supposed to shoot some football guys for a promo.

Ever get one of these? It stands for Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. Or shorter: operator error. Harry, one of the station engineers, showed me this just now. He saw it on a website. Apparently, it’s a real error message in Windows somewhere. I like that. This goes up on the list with AYBABTU and FUBAR.

Gloria stopped by the station today. She had won a T-shirt during a phone-in and came to collect. But instead of just walking in and out under my radar, she decided to have the front desk contact me so we could catch up. We hugged and after a few minutes of walking her around the office and chatting I had to go back to work but we made plans to see a movie together on Saturday. So she came to the office, got a T-shirt and a date.

She seemed pretty interested in getting together. She was just smiling at me the whole time…glowing, in fact. She was asking me questions the whole time, wanted to know everything about what I was doing, what my opinion was on movies I had seen recently… I wonder…

MAY 24, 2008 - It’s Saturday and I called Gloria at 11:30-ish this morning. She didn’t pick up. It’s 9:14pm now and she hasn’t called at all. It’s what I figured would happen. Oh, well. She’s missing out.

"Nobody steps on a church in my town!"

I made this today. That’s my buddies Marc and Pete who were delighted to participate. Special thanks to Pete’s Stay Puft Marshmallow Man figure from Ghostbusters.

Last night’s episodes of Bones and House were pretty damn good. I even got choked up watching House. That’s right. I’m a grown, straight man and I was tearing up like a kid watching Old Yeller last night…because of a TV show! What’s up with that?

Tonight: it’s more Hell’s Kitchen goodness. I couldn’t give two shakes about American Idol this year…not since the little girls who watch the show voted off Carly and Syesha but kept those two untalented douche bags left standing.
